4flow has successfully collaborated with EJOT, a provider of innovative, engineered fasteners and joining technology for the automotive, mechanical manufacturing, electronics, and construction industries, to optimize its logistics concept for finished goods. The joint team worked together to increase process efficiency, reduce costs, integrate intelligent automation and elevate operational excellence at EJOT to a new level.
The collaboration was focused on the EJOT site in Taicang, China, which delivers fastening systems to clients in the Asia Pacific region. EJOT has experienced significant growth in recent years, along with increasing customer requirements. These developments led to greater operational complexity and motivated the business to involve 4flow to support a comprehensive audit and optimization of logistics processes at the Taicang site.
4flow cooperated closely with the EJOT team to achieve optimal results tailored for EJOT’s business requirements. This included significant efficiency gains and an innovative, AGV-supported logistics concept with a return on investment of less than three years. The project team at EJOT said of the cooperation: “We already realized at an early stage of the project that we had selected the right partner for this challenging task, and that the teams were working well together to achieve great success.”
Within the project, 4flow supported in the development of the logistics concept and utilized on-site findings to conduct a hands-on lean training for relevant stakeholders. Oliver Scheel, principal at 4flow and responsible key account manager , commented on the advantages: “With concrete use cases, the EJOT team is empowered to implement the new solution and further explore lean logistics improvements to continue maximizing value in logistics processes.”
