4flow CEO Kai Althoff elected chairman of BVL

New BVL presidium includes representatives of 4flow, EDEKA and Thyssenkrupp

Kai Althoff, CEO of 4flow, will take on the role of chair of the board of BVL, the Germany-based supply chain association. Ilse Henne, member of the executive board at Thyssenkrupp AG and CEO of thyssenkrupp Materials Services, was elected as deputy chair of BVL. Stephan Wohler, COO of Edeka, will remain in his role as accountant of BVL. Kai Althoff has been a member of the BVL board since last year and has supported the association as a member of the advisory board since 2021.

“It is a great honor to take on this role. BVL is the world's largest active network of logistics and supply chain professionals. The opportunities it offers create a real competitive advantage in Germany. To seize those opportunties, we need to develop BVL as fast as our whole industry is moving. I look forward to making an even greater contribution in this area in the future“, said Kai Althoff.

In his new role, Kai Althoff will bring his extensive experience in the supply chain industry as the founder and CEO of 4flow to further develop BVL. Together with the other two presidium board members, Ilse Henne and Stephan Wohler, he will lead the BVL’s development. The presidium is also responsible for managing the association and executing the decisions made by the general assembly. Kai Althoff will take over for Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Wimmer, who was chair of the board since 2020.

BVL unites more than 10,000 supply chain experts and decision makers from manufacturing, retail, the service industry and academia worldwide.
