Success Story Resideo

Resideo is a leading global manufacturer and developer of technology-driven products and components that provide critical comfort, energy management, smart-living and safety and security solutions to over 150 million homes globally.

The company was in the process of implementing a new TMS for its end-to-end transportation network in Europe and approached 4flow to support its freight auditing and optimization activities. “We felt that 4flow had the right optimization and freight payment capabilities and expertise that we were looking for. 4flow also aligned with our company values, which is very important to us“, said Pierre-Henry Marbot, EMEA logistics director at Resideo.

Based on their optimization experience, the 4flow team worked closely with the Resideo team to develop and deliver the most effective data frameworks and customized automation tools from carrier and shipment data to product-level data. “This is one area where 4flow’s extensive experience with transportation optimization can create value for Resideo”, said Andrea Karáth, transportation planning manager and responsible project lead at 4flow management.

Gathering first-hand knowledge about operations and pinpointing inefficiencies is vital. “Managers at our sites know what they need. They know exactly what’s sitting on their docks. They know all the constraints. Therefore, we made sure that the communication between ourselves and 4flow is frequent, direct, easy and quick, so that we can turn the improvements indicated by data into reality as soon as possible”, explained Pierre-Henry Marbot.

One notable success of the Resideo and 4flow collaboration was the improvement of the internal shuttle network between production sites and warehouses. By reducing the frequency of the Mosbach (Germany) shuttle – which transports goods to nearby warehouses – from twice a day to once a day, it led to a 50% increase in utilization and a reduction of 13.7 tons of CO₂e emissions¹.

“The more closely we collaborate with the companies we support, the more successful the outcomes can be”, added Andrea Karáth.

In transportation logistics it‘s crucial to continue to find ways to increase speed, reduce costs and improve sustainability – and at the same time, maintain efficiency and quality. Currently, Resideo, supported by the 4flow team, is working on multiple active optimization levers in various stages – with an average time of a few weeks from idea to go-live. The optimization measures achieve cost savings, in addition to improved service levels and similar gains in sustainability.
