In the spotlight
“At 4flow, I can combine all my strengths and interests”
Lisa Raddatz is a supply chain engineer in our office in Rüsselsheim, Germany. In this interview, she talks about how she uses her math background and language skills in her work, what makes collaboration successful and how she spends her free time at the soccer stadium.
How did you get your start at 4flow?
I started at 4flow a little over 3 years ago, after finishing my degree in business mathematics. As a student, I had a few touchpoints with supply chain and knew I wanted to work in this industry. When I read that 4flow was looking for someone with French and English skills, it felt like the job ad was describing me.
How do you use your language skills at 4flow?
I worked for quite a while with a customer in France and took care of planning topics like optimization of tactical planning and defining new processes. It’s helpful to know the language so you can better identify challenges and respond to the customer’s needs. Now I’m part of an international project team based in Germany and Hungary, where we communicate in English.
That sounds exciting. What is your role in your new project?
I lead the Knowledge Hub, which is where we create training content for one of our software solutions. I also have a project management role, so I coordinate across software development, our data engineering experts and our research department to develop the optimal solution for our customer. I really enjoy figuring out how applications work and what configurations and algorithms need to be taken into consideration. At 4flow, I can combine all my strengths and interests – from my solution-focused approach thanks to my math background to my language skills for international collaboration.
What’s important to you when collaborating in international teams?
We have a very friendly and sincere working relationship. That’s what characterizes the 4flow culture for me. We have very high standards for our work, but we still take time to connect on a personal level. And when we’re together at a customer site or a 4flow office, we like to use the opportunity to go to dinner together and grow closer as a team – both as a 4flow team and with our counterparts at the customer.
And what do you like to do after work?
I spend a lot of time at the soccer stadium. I’m responsible for the online scoreboard for my fiancé’s soccer club. It’s always fun because I get to talk to all sorts of people while standing on the sidelines.
